📋 Step 2: Prior to The Wedding Day

 The Critical Legal Step
  • YOU MUST HAVE A CLARK COUNTY MARRIAGE LICENSE BEFORE THE CEREMONY.
  • License Requirement: Prior to arriving at your ceremony location, you must have the official legal packet from the CLARK COUNTY MARRIAGE LICENSE BUREAU in your hands.

You must obtain the license in person: As your Las Vegas officiant, I cannot obtain this for you. All couples must first visit the Marriage Bureau to get this legal paperwork completed before your marriage ceremony. Here is all you need to know:

Clark County Marriage License Bureau (Las Vegas)

Getting your marriage license is the official first step to getting married in Las Vegas! Here is the essential, up-to-date information you need:

📍Contact Details

⏰ Hours of Operation
  • Days Open: 7 days a week (Monday – Sunday)

  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. to Midnight

  • Holidays: Open on all holidays, no exceptions.

✅ The Licensing

Complete the Online Pre-Application: Clark County Marriage License Pre-Application Form

    Highly Recommend
  • Fill out the application online before you arrive. This step is optional but highly recommended as it saves significant time during your in-person visit.
  • Your pre-application is valid for one year from the date of submission.
  • Go to the Bureau In-Person:  Address: 201 E. Clark Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89101
  • Both partners must appear together at the Marriage License Bureau.
  • No appointment is necessary for the license itself (it is walk-in only).
  • Bring Required Documents & Payment: Government-Issued ID: Both parties must present a valid, government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License, Passport, Military ID, etc.).
  • Fee: The license fee is $102.00 (a small processing fee applies for credit/debit card payments; no checks are accepted).
  • Social Security Number: U.S. citizens must know their SSN (the physical card is not required). Non-U.S. citizens do not need an SSN.

Pick Up Your License Packet:

  • Once processed (which typically takes about 15 minutes if you pre-applied), you will be handed a packet of documents.
  • Do not lose this packet! You must give the entire packet to your wedding officiant.

Get Married:

  • Your ceremony must take place within one year of the date the license was issued.
  • Your officiant will complete the paperwork after the ceremony and is legally required to file it with the County Clerk’s office within 10 calendar days.

📝 Important Additional Information

No Waiting Period: Once you have the license in hand, you can get married immediately.

No Blood Tests: Nevada law does not require blood tests to obtain a marriage license.

Divorced/Widowed: You need to know the date, city, and state where your last divorce, annulment, or spouse’s death occurred.

Age: Both parties must be 18 or older (exceptions apply for minors with parental/court consent—see the official website for details).

International Couples (Apostille): If you are a citizen of a country that is part of the Hague Convention, you will likely need an Apostille to make your marriage legally recognized back home. You must first order a certified copy of your marriage certificate from the Clark County Clerk and then submit it to the Nevada Secretary of State for the Apostille certificate.

💍 Step 3: The Wedding Day

The Big Day & Post-Event Logistics:
  • We Meet Prior to the ceremony: We meet prior to the ceremony at a designated spot.  This is the BIG DAY!
  • Paperwork Check: Have the entire packet of marriage licensing paperwork ready for their review. I will review any final questions, requests, or concerns at this time.

  • The Ceremony: The heart of your wedding day! I will perform the ceremony, culminating in that wonderful moment of cheering and happy tears!

  • Temporary Certificate: You will depart with a temporary keepsake version of your marriage certificate. (This is not valid for a name change or spousal health insurance, but it makes for a great celebratory souvenir!)

After the Ceremony

  • Filing Timeline: After approximately 10 days, your official marriage (the certified version) becomes public record and you can access it online here.

  • Ordering the Certified Copy: You can then order this final, official version online and have it mailed directly to your residence. This document is essential for all legal purposes, including name changes and securing employment benefits.

  • Expedited Service: If you cannot wait the standard roughly 20-30 days total for delivery, we can rush the service for an additional fee.

Vegas Ceremony Pro is committed to making your process smooth and memorable.
